So what exactly IS collagen?

Collagen is the most important protein in our body. It is a fundamental building block of connective tissue and is found not only in the skin, but also in tendons, joints, ligaments, bones, blood-vessel walls - and even in the cornea in the eye. As it is collagen that determines the firmness of connective tissue, it is also called the body's "filler". Sufficient collagen content is therefore the main requirement for skin to have a firm appearance - and indeed the whole body. But collagen is also vitally important for the health of bones, tendons, joints, ligaments etc.

Our Ergoline Red Light Therapy Beauty Angel has been found to be a great way to build and increase collagen.  Try your first session FREE today!

How To Prepare For Spring Break (because doing things last minute is too stressful!)

These winter months have been moving quickly - anyone agree? That means spring break is right around the corner (cue the screams of excitement). This year, don’t get stuck doing everything last minute. Nobody enjoys paying extra for airline tickets, or staying at a less-than-ideal hotel. To plan the perfect spring break trip, you need to start now. We hope these tips will help you plan, and feel prepared, for this year’s spring break!

  1. Make a list of destination options: First things first, decide where you want to go. This sounds easier than it is especially if you are planning a trip with your sorority sisters. When a group of people are trying to decide on one destination things can get a bit hectic. We recommend having you and all your friends write down a list of destinations, cross reference your lists and we are sure one popular destination will show up!

  2. Beat the high costs of airplane tickets: Once you pick your destination, start looking at your flight options (assuming your travel involves an airplane). The longer you wait to book a flight the more expensive it will be. Also, don’t forget to check if you have miles you can use - either from a specific airline or a credit card you have. Not flying by plane? Taking a car? Decide which of your friends will be driving to your destination as soon as possible to avoid scrambling last minute.

  3. Research the best place to stay: Now it’s time to decide where you are going to stay. Looking at hotels? All inclusive resorts? Be sure to do your research! Check the hotel’s website and compare the cost with those listed on StudentUniverse. Never heard of StudentUniverse? We’ll try not to judge you. StudentUniverse provides students with exclusive travel deals on airfare and hotels so check it out!

  4. Schedule some time to sweat: Spring break usually means bathing suits and beaches. Make this year the year you feel 100% confident in your bathing suit. Start working out. Make a schedule and stick to it! Check to see if your university offers any fitness classes or find a workout program to follow. Remember, consistency is key! Before you know it you’ll be posing proudly on the beach.

  5. Bronze Yourself: Don’t show up at the beach pale. Start tanning to give yourself a nice bronze to match that new bikini we know you will be splurging on ;) So come visit us at Aspen Tan. Not only will you look great on the beach, but you will also get a nice dose of Vitamin D to boost your immune system - because nobody wants to get sick before spring break. Not interested in a tanning bed? We proudly use VersaSpa® for all sunless tanning. You can give your skin a natural, vibrant, long-lasting glow in just minutes and can bronze, hydrate and smooth fine lines in one session.

How To Fight The Winter Blues

Many people struggle with the shorter days and colder weather that come with the winter season. Let’s be honest waking up to a gray sky and a low temperature does not make many people want to jump out of bed and start their day. So as we advance more into Colorado winter we wanted to provide a few tips to help fight the winter blues.

  1. Make a book and movie list - Winter often means being stuck inside more often than one would like, so it is a great time to make a list of all those books and movies you kept talking about watching. Having hobbies or activities to do inside will help it seem less depressing when you are on your couch all day. If you really want to make yourself feel better, make sure your list of books and movies are light hearted and comical. A funny movie can definitely help prevent feeling blue for a few hours! Need some movie suggestions? Check out what is new on Netflix this month. Need book recommendations? Check out People Magazine’s inspirational books to read this winter article.

  2. Get more Vitamin D - We have said it before but we will say it again - nearly 20% of the United States population suffers from a form of seasonal depression according to the National Center for Biotechnology, often caused by the lack of Vitamin D during the winter. The special lamps used with tanning beds provide light of similar wavelengths to sunlight and studies have confirmed that these can also increase the amount of Vitamin D produced in the skin. Next time you are feeling blue come on in and see us for a quick Vitamin D boost!

  3. Exercise - Studies have shown that exercising under bright lights may be good for seasonal depression, so make time to go to that gym you have been paying for and try out a new workout class. Working out with a group of people with similar goals as you, under bright lights of course, can help boost your mood - plus, it gets you out of the house. If you are too cold or lazy to head to the gym then turn on every light in your living room and try a fun indoor workout. Try out this 20-minute home cardio workout

  4. Plan a vacation - If you find yourself longing for warmer days and summer try planning a vacation. Research has shown that planning a vacation can help increase happiness. So pull up airbnb or expedia and get to planning! Need inspiration? Check out pinterest for some new vacation ideas.

  5. Blast your favorite music - Everyone knows that upbeat music can totally change a person’s mood so blast your favorite upbeat music and dance around your bedroom. No one will judge you if a little Britney Spears or throwback N’Sync will help improve your mood this winter.

And, always remember that winter won’t last forever!

How to set achievable goals and maintain them!

Welcome to 2017! We hope the year is off to a great start for you! We are sure that many of you have set ambitious goals for the year, so we wanted to take a few minutes to provide some tips and tricks to help you achieve those goals.

First things first, make sure that your goals are achievable. We are all for setting ambitious goals but it is important to make sure that you are setting SMART goals. SMART stands for:

  • Specific - Sure, setting a general goal like “lose weight” or “travel more” is easier than setting a specific goal such as “lose 10 pounds by July” or “travel to three new states this year,” but odds of you quitting on your goal will be greater. By being specific you know exactly what you want to accomplish.

  • Measurable - Make sure your goal is measurable. Using the same example as above if your goal is to “travel more,” how would you measure if you achieved that goal unless you had a way to measure it? For instance, you could say you want to travel to one new city each month, or travel to five new cities by the end of 2017.

  • Attainable - Though this may seem obvious, you want to make sure the goals you set are attainable. For instance, if you work a full time job and your goal is to “travel to 24 countries in 2017” you are most likely setting yourself up for failure. Goals are not meant to be impossible to achieve, so while you don’t want to make the goal too easy, you also don’t want to make it impossible.

  • Rewarding - Again, this may seem like a no brainer but you want to make sure you are setting goals that will be rewarding to you. Maybe your best friend set a goal to run a marathon by October 2017 and she wants you to join her. If you hate running and will never feel anything but torture while training and running the race then don’t make that a goal of yours. It may sound silly but we are sure there are people out there willing to set goals just to appease others and that is not what a goal should be about. When you achieve a goal you should feel rewarded at the end.

  • Trackable - Although not all goals may not fit into a specific time frame, you want to make sure you set up a way for any goal to be tracked. For example if your goal is to “travel to 6 new cities by December 2017,” set a reminder at the beginning of each month to check in with yourself and see if you have any trips planned. Some goals, such as “lose ten pounds by July” are more easily trackable as you can plan to weigh yourself every two weeks to see if you are on track to achieve your goal.

Once you have set SMART goals, it is important to maintain your motivation to achieve them. A great way to keep your motivation up is by knowing why you set the goals in the first place. For example, why do you want to lose 10 pounds? Why do you want to travel to three new states this year? Take some time to think about the motivation behind your goals and then write it down somewhere you can see it every day. Maybe it is a sticky note on your mirror or on a piece of paper you hang on the fridge - just make sure you read it every day because it will help you remember why you set the goals you did and help keep you motivated to achieve them.

We hope these tips help set you up for a successful 2017!

Look and feel your best this holiday season!

The holidays are right around the corner! Between Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years Eve, everyone is trying to come up with quick and easy ways to look and feel their best this holiday season, so we wanted to share some tips. Let’s end 2016 on a high note!

Take Time To Clear Your Mind: The truth is the holiday season can be stressful for many, and schedules have a tendency to become hectic. Before you know it those dinners and parties you are attending start to feel more like a chore than a fun gathering with friends and family. A great way to prevent stress from putting a damper on what should be an enjoyable time of year is to schedule time for yourself each morning. I know what you’re thinking - ugh, why in the morning? - well it’s the best time because nothing else will get in the way. Think about it, if you schedule your “you time” for midday something else is bound to come up. We recommend using your “you time” for a quick 20 minute yoga session. Yoga will allow you to clear your mind and refocus on what’s most important this holiday season - friends and family. Plus, it will give you a great workout and help you feel less guilty about indulging in holiday treats. Not sure where to start? Check out do yoga with me for a ton of free yoga videos.

Water Is Your New Best Friend: The holiday season usually means a lot of food. Let’s be honest, no one can resist homemade Christmas cookies or perfectly cooked latkes - we can’t! That being said, it is important that you are drinking your recommended daily water intake to help combat any bloating. Not sure how much water you should be drinking each day? Check out this water intake calculator. Remember, if you are working out you may need to up this amount. If water is not your beverage of choice, you can spruce it up with some fruit. Adding lemon to your water will add additional flavor PLUS it helps with digestion and flushes the body which can lead to healthier skin.

Bronze Yourself: Now that you have a clear mind, gotten in some exercise, and are working to combat bloating and stay hydrated it’s time to talk about enhancing your color so you can rock your sparkly New Years Eve dress with confidence! Come visit us at Aspen Tan to get your tan on. Not only will you look great in your dress, you will also get a nice dose of Vitamin D to boost your immune system - because nobody wants to get the flu during the holidays. If you are looking for a tanning bed alternative, we proudly use VersaSpa® for all sunless tanning. You can give your skin a natural, vibrant, long-lasting glow in just minutes and can bronze, hydrate and smooth fine lines in one session.

These quick and easy tips are a great way to help feel and look your best this season, and all year round if we are being really honest. We hope everyone has a happy holiday and a great New Year’s Eve!

Benefits of Incorporating Tanning Into Your Finals Schedule

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, which means so are dreaded finals. We are sure you have prepared to be face down in the books for a while - stocked up on coffee and snacks, comfy clothes, and some good tunes - but a little break never hurt anyone. So, why not take a quick break from studying and stop in to Aspen Tan? There are some great benefits to taking a break with us and getting your nose out of your textbooks!

Take A Mental Break + Warm Up

While it may seem like a great idea to study for hours on end, eventually your brain is going to need a break. And, we are sure that coffee you stocked up on for studying is helping to keep you awake, but is it really keeping you warm? Obviously not! That’s why you also lug your scarf and extra sweater to the library with you. Why not use your study break to not only give your brain a break, but also warm up with us here at Aspen Tan? Check out our Green, Blue, or Black level tanning beds to enjoy a warmth that doesn’t require extra clothing!

Boost Your Immune System + Calm Your Nerves

Winter means flu season and we all know that the flu and finals definitely do not mix. So, why not take a study break and boost your immune system? Many scientists believe that the flu may be caused in part by the reduced production of Vitamin D during winter months and tanning is a good option for getting the daily amount of sunlight required. The special lamps used with tanning beds provide light of similar wavelengths to sunlight and studies have confirmed that these can also increase the amount of Vitamin D produced in the skin. Plus, a quick 15 minute Vitamin D boost will not only give you some well-deserved, quiet, no books involved, “me” time, but Vitamin D is proven to help calm nerves too. Now you can stop forcing yourself to drink that herbal, calming tea your grandma recommended!

Fight Seasonal Affective Disorder

In addition to the flu, SAD (seasonal affective disorder) season is here as well! Many are not aware of the effects of Seasonal Depression, caused by the lack of Vitamin D during the winter months. In fact, nearly 20% of the United States population suffers from a form of seasonal depression according to the National Center for Biotechnology. Tanning is a great alternative way for those who suffer from Seasonal Depression or SAD to get their Vitamin D! And, we are sure that hunkering down in the library or your dorm room studying is not providing you with the Vitamin D you need to feel good, so come visit us.

We can’t wait to see you on your study break!

7 Signs You May Have a Vitamin D Deficiency

Great article from Dr. Mercola on Vitamin D and signs you may have a Vitamin D deficiency:

By Dr. Mercola

Vitamin D deficiency is incredibly common in the US, but many Americans mistakenly believe they aren't at risk because they consume vitamin-D-fortified foods (such as milk).

There are very few foods that actually have therapeutic levels of vitamin D naturally and even fortified foods do not contain enough vitamin D to support your health needs.

Despite its name, vitamin D is not a regular vitamin. It's actually a steroid hormone that you are designed to obtain primarily through sun exposure, not via your diet.

Just How Widespread Is Vitamin D Deficiency?

Before the year 2000, very few doctors ever considered the possibility that you might be vitamin D deficient.

But as the technology to measure vitamin D became inexpensive and widely available, more and more studies were done, and it became increasingly clear that vitamin D deficiency was absolutely rampant. For example, according to one of the leading vitamin D researchers, Dr. Michael Holick

  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that 32 percent of children and adults throughout the US were vitamin D deficient -- and this is grossly underestimated as they used vitamin D levels that were not consistent with optimal health.
  • The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey found that 50 percent of children aged one to five years, and 70 percent of children between the ages of six and 11, are deficient or insufficient in vitamin D
  • Researchers such as Dr. Holick estimate that 50 percent of the general population is at risk of vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency

Researchers have also noted that vitamin D deficiency is prevalent in adults of all ages who always wear sun protection (which blocks vitamin D production) or limit their outdoor activities.1 People with increased skin pigmentation (such as those whose ancestors are from Africa, the Middle East, or India) are also at risk, as are the elderly.

It's estimated that over 95 percent of US senior citizens may be deficient in vitamin D, not only because they tend to spend a lot of time indoors but also because they produce less in response to sun exposure (a person over the age of 70 produces about 30 percent less vitamin D than a younger person with the same sun exposure).2

7 Signs You May Be Vitamin D Deficient

The only way to know for sure if you're vitamin D deficient is via blood testing. However, there are some signs and symptoms to be aware of as well. If any of the following apply to you, you should get your vitamin D levels tested sooner rather than later.

1.  You Have Darker Skin

African Americans are at greater risk of vitamin D deficiency, because if you have dark skin, you may need as much as 10 times more sun exposure to produce the same amount of vitamin D as a person with pale skin!

As Dr. Holick explained, your skin pigment acts as a natural sunscreen, so the more pigment you have, the more time you'll need to spend in the sun to make adequate amounts of vitamin D.

2.  You Feel "Blue"

Serotonin, the brain hormone associated with mood elevation, rises with exposure to bright light and falls with decreased sun exposure. In 2006, scientists evaluated the effects of vitamin D on the mental health of 80 elderly patients and found those with the lowest levels of vitamin D were 11 times more prone to be depressed than those who received healthy doses.3

3.  You're 50 or Older

As mentioned, as you get older your skin doesn't make as much vitamin D in response to sun exposure. At the same time, your kidneys become less efficient at converting vitamin D into the form used by your body and older adults tend to spend more time indoors (i.e. getting even less sun exposure and therefore vitamin D).

4.  You're Overweight or Obese (or Have a Higher Muscle Mass)

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble, hormone-like vitamin, which means body fat acts as a "sink" by collecting it. If you're overweight or obese, you're therefore likely going to need more vitamin D than a slimmer person -- and the same holds true for people with higher body weights due to muscle mass.

5.  Your Bones Ache

According to Dr. Holick, many who see their doctor for aches and pains, especially in combination with fatigue, end up being misdiagnosed as having fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome.

"Many of these symptoms are classic signs of vitamin D deficiency osteomalacia, which is different from the vitamin D deficiency that causes osteoporosis in adults," he says. "What's happening is that the vitamin D deficiency causes a defect in putting calcium into the collagen matrix into your skeleton. As a result, you have throbbing, aching bone pain."

6.  Head Sweating

According to Dr. Holick, one of the first, classic signs of vitamin D deficiency is a sweaty head. In fact, physicians used to ask new mothers about head sweating in their newborns for this very reason. Excessive sweating in newborns due to neuromuscular irritability is still described as a common, early symptom of vitamin D deficiency.4

7.  You Have Gut Trouble

Remember, vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means if you have a gastrointestinal condition that affects your ability to absorb fat, you may have lower absorption of fat-soluble vitamins like vitamin D as well. This includes gut conditions like Crohn's, celiac and non-celiac gluten sensitivity, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Why Preparing Your Skin for the Summer Sun is Important

We've all heard time and time again that we need to put on sunscreen any time we are exposing ourselves to UV rays. But with the recent studies on how harmful the chemicals in sunscreen are for our bodies and for the environment (source), we need to take a different approach to spending time outdoors.

Human beings were meant to be outdoors, so our bodies are fully prepared to be in the sun and exposed to UV rays.  In fact, it is unhealthy to block out any and all UV rays because moderate exposure to these rays increases the following:

  1. Increases alertness, making it easier to focus throughout the day and fall asleep at night.
  2. Boosts Vitamin D, which has been proven to help prevent certain types of cancer.
  3. Increases mood & helps with depression.

So how can we make sure that we are staying protected while still reaping the healthy benefits? By preparing our skin. Sunburns are the most dangerous because that means our skin has been over-exposed to the sun's rays, and it increases our risk of skin cancer.  Simply going to a tanning salon once a week can help to prevent a bad sunburn while outdoors without applying layers of chemical-induced sunscreen.

How are you planning on spending your time outdoors this summer? Stop in to an Aspen Tan salon to let us know!

4 Ways to De-stress During Finals + Graduation

1. Exercise. Yes, exercise does help us stay fit, but another amazing benefit of exercising is that it helps to reduce the stress hormone cortisol. This is the "fight or flight" hormone that creates a lot of dangerous stress in our bodies, and can be brought on by a busy schedule. Taking a short 20-30 minute walk or bike ride or a 60-min early morning yoga class can help your body reduce this hormone and increase your "happy" endorphins. You'll thank yourself later when you confidently & calmly ace that last final!

2. Sleep. We all know sleep is tough during finals, graduation, and all of the celebratory parties along the way. Lack of sleep is almost a given during this time, but it doesn't have to be! Sleep helps your ability to learn and retain information, your concentration, and your overall mood. Try to aim for at least 7 hours of sleep per night, but if this is impossible for you, a quick 20-45 minute power nap can be almost as beneficial!

3. Take time for yourself. It's easy to get so caught up in the to-dos you have for finals and graduation weekend. On top of that, your family is in town, you have a ton of parties to attend, & the ceremony itself! It's important to take time for yourself and step away from all of your responsibilities, even if it's just for 30 minutes. A great way to do this is to stop by an Aspen Tan salon! A quick 20 minute Vitamin-D boost will not only give you some well-deserved, quiet, "me" time, but Vitamin D is proven to help calm nerves!

Our List of Must-Haves for the Perfect Coachella!

A stylish and practical outfit will keep you looking and feeling amazing all weekend. We’ve put together our must-have items for Coachella to help you look fabulous, while staying healthy, happy, and comfortable!

Outfit Must-Haves

a sun hat: you will be in the sun for most of the day, so wearing a hat is one of the easiest ways to keep yourself cool while adding a bit of flair. We are loving the Wesley Felt Fedora and the Piper Hat, both by Brixton.

stylish sunglasses: sunglasses will obviously help you see your favorite band playing in the glaring sun, so these are a must. Have some fun and try out a shade you don’t usually wear, or a shape you’ve never tried before. We suggest blue aviators or cat eye style with aqua blue lenses!

bodysuit:  We all know bodysuits are annoying every time you use the bathroom, but also know that they are worth that little inconvenience. They are flattering on any and all body types, and are versatile enough to go with any other clothes to complete the look you are going for. Bodysuits tend to be thinner material with no sleeves, so on top of their stylish versatility they will keep you cooler throughout the day. We love the simplicity and color choices of Free People’s Move Along Bodysuit.

shorts by oneteaspoon: there is a reason why distressed denim shorts are a dime a dozen at coachella. If you happen to get a grass stain or drop your ice cream on them, it will only add to the overall distressed look of the denim. On top of that, they are extremely versatile, and can essentially be a part of your outfit for all 3 days! One Teaspoon’s Denim Bandit shorts are our absolute favorite!

comfortable footwear: Yes, coachella is a fashion event as much as it is a music festival, but believe me, now is not the time to try out those brand new Dr. Martens. You will be miserable after 8 hours of dancing with sweaty socks. Instead, opt for a pair of boots you’ve already worn a million times, broken in sandals, or just go barefoot all together!

a backpack: Backpacks, not purses or shoulder bags, are essential. You are going to need something that you can dance with AND that will hold your phone, phone charger, jacket, money, water bottle, snacks, makeup, hair ties, blanket, towelettes, hand sanitizer… A backpack is the only item that can hold everything while letting you dance with your hands in the air. We have UNIF’s faux black leather back pack and it is so comfortable and stylish!

a towel or blanket:  while you definitely can do without a towel or blanket, having one makes sitting in the grass from sunset until 11 pm much less itchy. The Beach People and Sand Cloud have perfect festival towels with beautiful boho designs.

Health & beauty essentials

water bottle: The dry climate and the desert sun can be brutal, so it is key to stay hydrated throughout the entire day and night, and drink even when you don’t think you need to. Grab an insulated water container like a Hydro Flask or S’Well, fill it with ice, and throw it in your backpack. It will still be cold and refreshing hours later!

peppermint towelettes by herban essentials:  Face it, you’re going to be very, very sweaty. You’ll be dancing for hours in 90+ degree heat. These peppermint towelettes will make you feel refreshed, and the minty oil will help cool your body down in the hot sun.

lavender hand sanitizer by eo: this is the best hand sanitizer, hands down. The lavender smells divine, and it can help you feel relaxed in the whirlwind of the festival. Plus, you’ve gotta have backup sanitizer when you know you are going to be using porta potties throughout the entire weekend.

last but not least...a TAN! There is nothing worse than having a sunburn at a music festival, and nothing better than having a healthy, bronzed glow! A base tan is very important to have when you’re exposing your skin to 8+ hours of UVA/UVB rays with minimal clothing coverage. In fact, getting a sunburn greatly increases your risk of melanoma and skin cancer, not responsible exposure to UVA/UVB rays. Getting a base at Aspen Tan will help protect you from sunburn, while also giving you a healthy, bronzed look.

Aspen Tan clients doing yoga at North Boulder Park.

While this isn’t every person’s favorite cardiovascular activity, it is one way to get outdoors and enjoying this out of season winter weather. With hundreds of trails around Colorado there is never a reason to not get moving. If running isn’t up your alley these trails also offer plenty of options for hiking, walking, or even just enjoying the beautiful scenery in our home state.

While Yoga is hailed for all of its benefits including balance and flexibility, one of our favorite classes are the yoga sculpt classes that push us to our limit in 98 degree rooms doing full muscle strength training. These classes, paired with upbeat music, and a community feel make staying in shape easy and fun, especially with daily classes that force you to keep up your routine!

Our newest work out strategy has been high intensity cycling classes. While these classes have been working wonders for people for years, we have just recently given in to the hype. These classes will make you sweat, make you burn, and get you in the best shape of your life.

We try to stay active 6 days a week, but even the most tone muscles look better with a tan. Stop by Aspen Tan today to check out our February Specials, and follow us on social media to always be up-to-date on giveaways and raffles!

Five Ways to Stick With Your New Year’s Resolution (Even if You’ve Strayed a Little!)

While February is just a few weeks away, that doesn’t mean you have to abandon all your hard work towards a healthy 2016. Even if you’ve missed a few days at the gym or had a few too many cheat meals you can always start fresh and change your lifestyle to match the where you want to be this Summer, or even this Spring Break! Here are four ways we suggest to making this year your best yet.

1. Write Your Resolutions Down

Even if you’ve missed a few days the best way to stick to your health goals is to hold yourself accountable. If you write them in your planner, as a reminder in your phone, or even just as a post-it note when you’re getting ready in the morning you will be much more likely to maintain your goals. Creating benchmark promises are also a great way of keeping your resolution. If your resolution is to lose 15 pounds this year, that’s a pretty long about of time, but if you promise you can have a your favorite meal at Cheesecake Factory when you lose 5 pounds, or you want to lose 15 pounds in 3 months, these short term goals help create your new, and healthy lifestyle.

2. Play with Your Food!

While many people make resolutions about losing weight or eating better, it doesn’t have to be the end of the fun in your life. Everything is ok in moderation, but if you are cutting out dairy products on weekdays check out fun vegan cheese recipes, (there are a lot!) That way it doesn’t seem as if you’re losing out anything, rather that you’re getting the best of both worlds. Truly having your cheese, and eating it too. There are many recipes for low calorie, and yummy recipes that can not only keep you full, but with a smile on your face.

3. Change it Up

One of the hardest parts of keeping your resolution (at least for me,) is enjoying working out. While I am always happy after leaving the gym, getting there is usually a different story. Add some new fitness activities to your routine such as going to Beat Cyle, CorePower Yoga, or Orange Theory. These fun additions will help you to enjoy your fitness routine, and get of out of the fitness slump. Kayla Itsines and Blogilates are also fun ways to work out, even when you don’t want to leave you house.

4. Turn your Face to the Sun

It’s even harder to keep your resolutions when its freezing and snowing outside. Many people are unaware of the affects of Seasonal Depression caused by the lack of Vitamin D during the winter months. Nearly 20% of the United States population suffers from a form of seasonal depression according to the National Center for Biotechnology. Tanning offers an alternative way for suffers to get their vitamin D, look good, and feel better about themselves in order to keep your goals inline!
